My efforts to save the tomatoes were too little, too late. The blight had spread to the rest of the crop very quickly despite my spraying them, so the whole lot has been pulled out. So depressing! I do at least have a bag full of green tomatoes (some of which are ripening okay in the sun) but the rest will go into making green tomato chutney. Never made it or tasted it before, but I’ll give it a go.
There are a few quite varied recipes on the internet, I quite like the sound of this one on My Tiny Plot. However, as you can see, I have over 4lb of toms, which is the amount needed in this Keith Floyd recipe, so maybe I’ll do a cross between the two.
