Just a short post. I lifted the first (half a row) of my first early potatoes today, and for the first time ever I managed not to fork any! That’s a few triumphant firsts.
I also harvested the first few green beans from the dwarf (or bush) plants, another bunch of sweetpeas (I stripped the plants of flowers only on Monday and it was dripping with them again only 3 days later), another lettuce, more beetroot, and the garlic which has been drying out in my shed has been cleaned of their muddy outer leaves and they have filled a net bag. I should be okay for garlic for a while.
Here’s to all those exciting firsts (no matter how many years you’ve been doing it) over the next few months. It’s pay back time!
We had the first of our new potatoes earlier this week. Delicious!
