Welcome!

I’m a designer and illustrator who is passionate about gardening and in particular growing fruit and vegetables on my allotment.

On the home page, you can read about my allotment. There are posts about what and how I grow, how I combat pests and diseases, and how I store and preserve my harvests, along with as many photos as possible.

The shop page shows some of the items that are for sale in my Etsy shop. You can click on the link on that page, or the orange Etsy badge below, to visit the shop.

I also keep a little journal where I practice my drawing skills by documenting my allotment journey in ink and watercolours.

Catching up with this while Mother Nature takes care of watering my plants. 🎨
We’ve started harvesting some of our garlic. This little batch was planted back in January of 2020 using the last of our stored heads that had started to sprout. It was a bit of an experiment to see how they’d grow, and they grew, but not by much. Come late summer, the tops died back and rather than harvest some pretty pathetic bulbs we just left them and kind of (ahem) forgot them. So they stayed in the ground and regrew again in late autumn, and this is the result. Not the greatest garlic we’ve ever grown, but not the worst either. Please do not attempt to try this at home 😆 unless you too get tiny non split heads and are prepared to wait another year! Our autumn planted crop will be harvested soon, but for now I’m relishing the full on garlic smell in my shed as these dry. 😁
I almost missed my first #tomatotuesday 😁🍅 this is where mine are at. I’m so looking forward to seeing these babies grow up big and fat. 😋
The bottom end of my plot is looking pretty and full of buzzing bees. Beautiful white foxgloves, masses of blue cornflowers, hardy pink geranium under the fruit trees, and bright orange Californian poppies. Bliss. 🐝 🐝 🐝

Four and a half jars of rhubarb and orange jam - marmalade? It’s somewhere between the two - jamalade? The half jar will go straight into the fridge once it cools down to be used up first.
