Welcome!

I’m a designer and illustrator who is passionate about gardening and in particular growing fruit and vegetables on my allotment.

The gallery of pictures on the home page show some of the items that are for sale in my Etsy shop. You can click on the link on that page, or the orange Etsy badge below, to visit the shop.

On the blog page, you can read about my allotment. There are posts about what and how I grow, how I combat pests and diseases, and how I store and preserve my harvests, along with as many photos as possible.

I also keep a little journal where I practice my drawing skills by documenting my allotment journey in ink and watercolours.

Apologies for the artificial light, but I made this today and it’s flippin’ delicious. If you can’t get quinces use pear or apple. We popped by the allotment on our way back from walking our dog, and I was amazed (considering the cold frosty weather) to find cosmos and cornflowers in the wildflower bed. This little dahlia in my garden has decided now is the time to start flowering 🤦‍♀️ oh well, I’ll appreciate it for as long as it lasts. It’s a tuber that I never dig up, it has been in the ground for a few years, and every year it comes up really late. It never learns. I managed to get an hour in the garden before sunset. Planted out some foxgloves that have been patiently waiting for weeks, spread some mounded up piles of leaves around the borders for a mulch, and cut back the clematis that has completely taken over my office, meaning I have to duck down to get in there. It felt good to do a few jobs, but it’s a good job I have a tiny garden. PS: spot the tiny spider. 🕷#latedahlia #whitedahlia #gardening #autumngardening
That’s the last of the chillies now - thankgod! We’ve given bags full away to anyone that will have them, filled the freezer, made hot sauce, got a large bowlful of semi dry ones that will be made into a smoky chilli powder, and lots of the green jalapeños will be pickled.
