All is rosy and sweet

Welcome!

I’m a designer and illustrator who is passionate about gardening and in particular growing fruit and vegetables on my allotment.

On the home page, you can read about my allotment. There are posts about what and how I grow, how I combat pests and diseases, and how I store and preserve my harvests, along with as many photos as possible.

The shop page shows some of the items that are for sale in my Etsy shop. You can click on the link on that page, or the orange Etsy badge below, to visit the shop.

I also keep a little journal where I practice my drawing skills by documenting my allotment journey in ink and watercolours.

Spending a few days helping mum with her garden. You can just see her in the final picture. I was 6 months old when my parents bought this house, so I grew up in this garden. It feels like a privilege to tend it now, as I know I’ll miss it one day.
Courgette glut? Pah, the courgettes have nothing on the cucumbers. 🤪
Today’s harvest ... Charlotte potatoes, 4 courgettes, a bunch of beetroot, cucumbers (3 here, another 6 left behind in the shed because I couldn’t carry them all home, all from 1 plant 🤣) the first couple of ripe tomatoes 🍅🥳 and the first few curly wurly green chillies (variety Aci Kil from @seaspringseeds).
The leeks have been given a second dosing of the fruit and vegetables biostimulant from @themagicmoleculeco. So far they seem to be holding their own against the current heatwave, and are growing well. It’s hard to believe these tiny wisps of green will be fat leeks by winter.
This is my squash bed believe it or not. The nasturtiums have gone a bit crazy (all self seeded) and there’s also self seeded cosmos that I can’t bring myself to pull out. 🙄☺️
